How to make a Blower Motor upgrade for your Series 3 Land rover

What you will need.
12v/4a 230cfm 3" fused turbo inline blower.
Black spray
4x 80-100mm jubilee clips
90mm single ply flexible ducting 25" long
electrical connectors
thick tape or padding 25mm wide.
My heater blower motor was only effective on the fastest speed on the slowest speed it was totally pointless. So I fitted this blower upgrade for a bit more power and wired it so the fastest speed on the original blower is now the slowest and the upgraded blower motor is the fastest speed. This has worked well this winter and is no noisier than the original fan with a bit more power. You could fit it to a switch and use it as a independent blower motor as long as the intake is drawing in fresh air from outside the vehicle.
Heater motor bilge blower upgrade

Fitting
1. Spray blower motor black if desire. I cut the legs off the blower motor for a better fit but you can leave them on.
2. Cut flexible hose 1x7" and leaves 1x18".
3. Attach 18" length of hose to original heater motor using jubilee clip.
4. Attach other end of 18" hose to new blower motor (not the end with the arrow on the arrow points to which direction the air blows) using tape or padding ensuring a tight fit and tighten with jubilee clip.
5. Attach 7" length of hose to arrowed end of new blower motor using tape or padding to ensure tight fit tighten with jubilee clip.
6. Attach other end of 7" hose to heater matrix and tighten with jubilee clip pushing the loose 18" hose into the wing behind the blower motor ensuring a tight fit and the blower should now be secure and require no fastening to the Land rover.
Wiring
1.Attach black wire to earth screw on the land rover heater blower.
2. There are two wires from the heater switch to the blower motor on a series 3 Land rover. Green and Yellow is the slowest speed and Green and Brown the fastest speed.
3.Cut the wire of the speed you want to attach your blower motor to and using connectors attach yellow wire to the wire coming from the switch. Blank of the other end of the wire.
4. You could wire it to an independent switch or cut the green and yellow and attach the green and brown from the original motor to this then the new motor yellow wire to the green and brown from the switch so slow speed is now fast speed on the old blower motor and fast speed is the new blower.
